Following Richard Feynman's example from some decades ago, I decided to give my speech at a conference in Brazil in Portuguese. I think it went really well!
I would publish the speech here, but I think I still have to work out a definitive version.
I was kind of taken aback to see a big banner at a gas station yesterday proclaiming that "fazemos um compromisso com a qualidade".
It sure looks like "we're making a compromise with quality"!
Of course, "compromisso" actually means "commitment".
